World War One didn’t just start and end like that. Lots of preparation went into it and so did a lot of after math plans. 61,000 Canadians lost their lives, most had family waiting for them back at home. 85% of Newfoundland was destroyed and Canada was in huge debt. Veterans were now un-employed and many families were separated. At least Canada got some international recognition from other countries and because of this there was a huge population boom from 1918-1920. Canada, just in case now has improved war technologies. Women now have the right to vote, and the railways were extended so if any trading needed to be done it was possible. Canada sacrificed a lot for World War One and because of this they were in debt. They railways can be used to send out surpluses of wheat and timber to earn back some money. Now the industry and agriculture is far more prized.
